The Quality, Research, and Development Organization implemented a sewing skills training activity in Raqqa targeting women returning from Al-Hol Camp, with the aim of strengthening their vocational skills and supporting sustainable livelihoods. The activity included an introduction to sewing tools, types of machines, occupational safety principles, and basic measurement techniques. Participants progressed from taking measurements and drafting patterns on fabric to accurate cutting and complete garment sewing. The training also covered machine assembly, preparation, use of basic stitches, and control of speed and stitching quality. As outcomes, participants produced complete sewing items and applied embroidery and embellishment techniques to enhance product aesthetics. At the conclusion of the activity, sewing kits were distributed and each beneficiary received her finished products to support continuity and the launch of small income-generating projects.
