In a world where social and economic challenges intertwine, empowering women remains a cornerstone for achieving sustainable development and community prosperity. From this perspective, we present our pioneering livelihoods program, specifically designed to support women returning from Al-Hol camp and women in the host community. This program aims to go beyond mere assistance and transition into a phase of capacity building, allowing participants to reclaim their status in society as leaders and producers.
We believe that knowledge is power and that skills are the key to independence. Therefore, our program focuses on equipping women with professional skills that meet the needs of the local labor market, ensuring that the outcomes have real economic value. The training courses encompass a wide range of activities, including traditional crafts such as sewing, embroidery, and women’s hairdressing. These skills are not merely tools for earning a living; they are a means of rebuilding self-confidence and transforming ideas into successful projects that contribute to supporting families and the community.
Recognizing that the journey of empowerment does not end with the completion of training, our program adopts a comprehensive approach that ensures sustainability. We provide participants with support packages for three months after completing their training. These packages are not merely assistance; they are an investment in their future and may include tools and materials necessary to start their small projects.
In addition to financial support, we offer specialized one-on-one support. Trained mentors conduct follow-up visits and provide direct assistance to offer technical advice, address practical challenges, and provide moral support. This ongoing support ensures the transformation of ideas into reality and helps women overcome obstacles that may hinder their path to success.
Empowerment is not limited to the economic aspect; it also involves rebuilding social connections. Al-Hol camp represents a harsh experience that has left a psychological and social impact on returnees. Therefore, our program places great importance on creating safe spaces where women can gather, share experiences, and build strong relationships. Through organized social events, we provide a supportive environment that helps break down barriers and fosters mutual understanding between returnees and women in the host community. These gatherings are not merely recreational activities; they are opportunities for healing, building trust, and reintegrating women into the fabric of society.
Through this program, we aim to achieve more than just improving living conditions. We strive to reshape a bright future where every woman can be an active partner in building her community. It is an investment in people, an investment in a future of hope and prosperity.
